                        WORKSHOP I    (9am - Noon)

                       "A New Eight Function MBTI® Model: Implications for Practitioners and Clients"

                     Target Audience: Type Practitioners, Career Counselors, Coaches and Mentors

                     Requisite Experience Level:  Familiarity with Type Dynamics

Larry Gabbard will share his fascinating new research regarding the Eight Function MBTI® Model. 

This research is based on career counseling work done to produce occupational codes for MBTI occupational tables.  Accepted as a Poster session at 2009 APTi conference. 

Objectives:

  1. Cover traditional type dynamics and current eight function models
  2. Show how occupational rankings are used to code occupations
  3. Demonstrate how Jungian Type Codes show the functional priorities of an occupation
  4. Use Codes for 16 MBTI Top 50 lists to determine the functional priorities for each type
  5. Compare results to Traditional Functional Priorities and current Eight Function Model
  6. Cover some significant practical applications of the NEW Eight Function Model

                      WORKSHOP II   (1pm - 4pm)

                    "The Journey of Job Search:  Cliff Hanger or Guided Tour"

                    Target Audience:  Career counselors, interested practitioners and anyone who is looking  for 

                    a job or a new career path

 

Requisite Experience Level: No Type experience or knowledge required

(All participants will have the opportunity to take the MBTI during the lunch hour to identify     their type.  Other participants will have lunch with Larry for an overview of the tools used in the afternoon.)
Objectives:

  1. Determine your working personality based on your type and Larry's comprehensive research.  
  2. Build a starter list of 15 occupations to initiate your job search
  3. Use O*NET OnLine Summary Reports to reduce your list and select a college major
  4. Use the O*NET OnLine Detail Reports to reduce your list to 3 occupations and construct resumes and cover letters for all three
  5. Use the O*NET OnLine Detail Report to identify transferrable skills for a career transition
  6. Helpful tips from Larry’s experience as a career counselor and 40+ of Colorado trainer will be sprinkled liberally through these objectives
