Letter from Eileen Broer

President of the Rocky Mt. Association for Psychological Type

When I was teaching Type in China, I learned the hard way about the influence that a Collectivist culture has on how people react to learning their type.  When, at the end of a two-day type workshop, I asked a Mainland Chinese manager (through my translator) which Type she had selected as her own, she asked me, “Which one is the best one?”  Others too were willing to become whatever Type the group needed them to be.  I thought they had not been listening to me, or that we had a problem with the translation from English to Chinese.  I was wrong!

I wish I had the benefit of Nancy’s teaching and excellent, very thorough book before I started to teach Type in China in the late 1990’s.  Then I would not have been so taken aback by the Chinese manager’s question, and I would even have anticipated it and been better prepared to answer it.

The flier and registration form are attached.  I’m looking forward to seeing you on March 23 at this exciting and timely workshop.

 With warm regards,

Eileen
